Amanda is a local Pittsburgh artist. Born in the North Side and raised in a nearby suburb. Amanda developed a love for creativity at a very young age and always knew that she would pursue a career as a full-time artist. She attended Slippery Rock University and graduated in the spring of 2019 with her BFA. She worked for several galleries and a printing company after college, developing her skills in handling and framing fine art. She also enjoyed painting Scally’s Mini Golf near the airport. She cultivated her painting skills on each life size animal sculpture. She continues to paint on a regular basis and work on her unique and trippy style. She also hopes to start painting murals. Outside of being an artist Amanda enjoys an active lifestyle distance running and gardening. She values friends and family time. She can be found out and about training for her next 10k or outside sipping tea on a sunny day.
Amanda decided to turn her art into a business and got her LLC for ArtLyon this past November. The idea behind this company is to make her art wearable. "Growing up I could never find clothes that were colorful enough for me." With ArtLyon LLC there are no limits to new ideas and designs that can be created, worn, and enjoyed. Not just by Amanda but by art collectors and children who will enjoy the art too. "I always ask people, what do you see in the art? It becomes a kind of look and find game that is fun for the kids or people of any age. It’s a creative process for me to make the art, but also becomes a creative experience for the viewer when they define the painting with their own story."
